Arrests as Raymond Terrace crowd hits on police

04 Nov, 2009 11:30 AM
SEVEN arrests have been made after police were pelted with rocks and bottles when revellers at a party went out of control at Raymoind Terrace early on Sunday.

The party at a Mount Hall Road residence resulted in an abandoned car being upended and dragged on the road. When fire brigade crews turned out revellers hindered their efforts to salvage the vehicle.

Police responded about 1am and it is alleged a large section of the crowd, of around 30 people, turned on them. Revellers allegedly threw rocks and bottles at police and police vehicles.

Damage was minor to the vehicles.

Seven people were arrested. The charges included using offensive language, hindering police and failing to comply with police directions.
