PORT Stephens residents are being asked to say 'I do' when it comes to lending their family's wedding heirlooms to Tomago House for a display which aims to raise money for the site.
Tomago House's custodian Lynda Prescott said she was hoping those in the community would donate wedding dresses and photographs to create a past and present gown display.
The display will make up one section of a bridal fair the national trust listed house is hosting on March 25 to help raise money for ongoing restoration and maintenance work.
"We hope to raise about $10,000," Ms Prescott said.
"But if we get $5000 we are still going to be happy."
Ms Prescott said the aim of the bridal fair was to not only showcase Tomago House but also the rich history within Port Stephens.
"It's a community display," she said.
A call has also been made for Port Stephens businesses to get involved with a $50 discount for those deciding to take up a spot.
Anyone with items for donation or those wanting to take part in the event can contact Lynda Prescott on 4964 8959 or email tomago@nationaltrust.com.au .
