Campvale crossbow horror

19 May, 2010 10:53 AM
CAMPVALE resident John Greenwood was devastated after finding his dog, a Jack Russell named Clyde, had been shot more than 15 times with a crossbow and left at the back of his property.

The family is offering a cash reward for any information which helps police convict whoever is responsible.

Mr Greenwood said that on Friday, May 7 the seven-year-old dog disappeared from the family home at about 1pm.

Mr Greenwood later found the dog dead at the rear of the property with numerous puncture wounds to its head and body.

Also at the scene was a discarded length of yellow plastic mesh which Mr Greenwood said could have been used to transport the dog's body.

He said a lack of blood led him to believe the dog had been killed elsewhere.

"It took me about half an hour to call the police because I was just so upset," he said.

"We had Clyde since he was a pup.

Truly horrifying and sickening! One can't begin to imagine the absolute terror and pain that poor little dog was put through as these monsters tortured him. These incredibly cruel and depraved perpetrators are obviously very dangerous and a menace to society - if they can carry out such a henious act on a defenceless creature they're certainly capable of doing the same to humans! I really hope they catch these despicable low lifes and throw them in prison where they belong.

Shocking! Absolutely shocking! Geez I hope someone dobs this person/s in. I don't what the rewards amount is, but I'd be only too happy to donate to this amount to attract someone to come forward. The'd probably be a lot of others in the community would do this too.

Poor man. Here's hoping they're caught. This should be a long term jail offence. Long term. It's not a big town... someone's going to know who did this.
