Day out for Dads at Murray's Brewery

25 Aug, 2010 01:35 PM
THERE is little doubt most Dads love beer and food, so Murray’s Brewery has joined the two together for a Father’s Day to remember.

On Sunday, September 5 the brewery is holding a Hoppy Father’s Day lunch with a special menu, entertainment and the annual release of bottled Icon 2Ipa beer.

each dad will get a free brewery tour and the whole family is invited to book in for lunch among the vines.

Chef and father Adam Ritchie said he hopes many families will come along for the day.

‘‘It will be a big family day out and we are doing a barbecue and beers for dad,’’ he said.

‘‘There is beer, wine, music and something for everyone.’’

The specials for the day will be t-bone steaks on the barbecue with prawns.

The Mark Wells four-piece band will be performing throughout the day.

Wells is a previous member of band Supersonic but has made a move into country music.

He won the Telstra Road to Tamworth Songwriter’s Prize in 2008 and has released the song You’re Still On My Mind.

At last count his fellow musicians included Ngariki on drums, Bob Corbett on the slide guitar, Jason Bone multi-tasks on the guitar and saxophone while Matt Gaudry plays keys and Brian Daly strums the mandolin. Bookings are essential for the lunch, for further details contact the brewery on 4982 6411
