Funk and Grooves: Spiderbait set to appear

25 Aug, 2010 01:30 PM
THE Funk and Grooves festival is set to be an infectious musical day out in the Hunter Valley and the Examiner has tickets to giveaway.

To win a double pass follow the competition links.

The festival is on September 11 at Pokolbin featuring Spiderbait, Resin Dogs and Gyroscope among many other artists.

Kram, Spiderbait’s drummer, played a solo gig at the festival last year and enjoyed it so much he is back with the band for this year’s line-up.

‘‘Groove is a big part of our band...we are really in our element at festivals,’’ Kram said.

Spiderbait has been very busy lately filming scenes for an upcoming channel Nine show and preparing for the festival circuit.

The band has released several albums with its most well-known song being the cover of Black Betty.

‘‘We have played and become popular over the years by playing festivals and people remember that,’’ he said.

‘‘We are just happy to be part of rock and roll.’’

Enjoy the space, music and fresh air at this year’s Funk and Grooves festival.
