THOSE with a vision for the future of Nelson Bay's ageing foreshore are encouraged to attend a public information session in the town on Saturday.
Held by Hampton Property Services (HPS) on behalf of foreshore developer Ardent Leisure, the meeting aims to explain the consultation and approval process that will eventually see a concept plan for the project drawn-up.
"I understand there has been some conjecture around the council's planning process, we would like to explain where we sit within those," HPS director Kristy Lee said.
Ms Lee was referring to plans for five-storey development on the waterfront and part of Apex Park which had been suggested by a consultant contracted by Port Stephens Council.
She said getting ideas from residents and stakeholders was a major reason for holding the meeting.
"We want people to tell us what they love and hate about the town," she said
Attendees are encouraged to speak openly about creative ideas for the area.
The meeting will be held at the Marina Resort on Magnus Street from 2pm to 4pm and those who wish to attend must register with HPS on 9396 7000, or via their website.
Ms Lee said HPS was also looking for community representatives to join two stakeholder groups.
Residents not aligned with a community group already represented were welcome.
