Helping bushfire victims at Raymond Terrace library

28 Oct, 2009 03:21 PM
PORT Stephens Council has joined a program that will see the victims of Victoria's bushfires receive new books.

The initiative, called ALIA Rebuilding with Books, was the topic of a fundraiser at Tomaree Library last Friday and tomorrow the Raymond Terrace library will host a similar event. From 10am, residents can show up to the Terrace library for morning tea and make a donation to the cause.

The libraries are also donating all profits from book sales to the campaign, which aims to provide every household hit by the fires with a book voucher, according to library manager Kris Abbott.
