Identity of Bridle Path trees revealed

24 Feb, 2010 10:04 AM
WALKERS on the popular Bridle Path between Nelson Bay and Dutchmans Beach will now be able to identify the many beautiful native trees along the route.

This is thanks to Nelson Bay West Parkcare volunteers who have completed installing signs naming a variety of the trees there.

This is part of a joint project by the group and Port Stephens Council which has also involved installing new barbecues and picnic equipment at Dutchies and Bagnall Beaches.

Volunteers spend two hours on the first Monday each month, planting, eradicating noxious weeds and generally beautifying the area from Nelson Bay to Bagnall Beach.

Residents who want to join the group can contact Peter Dundas-Smith on 4984 2435.
