"WATCH this space, these girls will go a long way", is the message from Grahamstown Go Kan Ryu (GKR) karate sensei Daniel Frost.
Eliesha Kelly and Tahleigh Cassidy, 10, and Billie-Jo Herron, 11, have all qualified for the National GKR championships in Melbourne in November.
Eliesha, who represented Australia at the Melbourne World Cup last year, will be buoyed by her gold-medal performance in the 10-11 year girls kata (forms) at the recent GKR regional championships in Five Dock, Sydney.
And with an unusually devoted training schedule, there is no reason she, or Sensei Daniel, would expect a sub-standard performance at the national meet.
"She trains five days a week and that's quite unique in someone her age," Sensei Daniel said.
"She is probably one of the most consistent performers...she won the gold medal at the regionals by a whole point which is a huge amount by our scoring system."
Tahleigh and Billie-Jo also managed top-three finishes at regional championship events this year, which will see them line-up against Australia's best 10 and 11 year old female talent in November.
