Nelson Bay Cricket almost takes out clean sweep

NELSON Bay Cricket Club fell just short of a four-grade clean sweep on the weekend losing C-grade to Wallsend Diggers.

ts top AR3s conceded only four wickets on its way to 132, just enough to overwhelm the Marmots lineup, who only managed 126.

The Lass O'Gowrie Blues were no match for the Bay's B3 team amassing only 124 in reply to 185.

Grade B4 had a training run against the Mary Ellen with a total of 176.

The Newcastle pub team managed only 85 in reply.

But despite leading the C3 competition the Bay were no match for Wallsend Diggers, being dismissed for 98.

Wallsend lost three wickets on their way to a cruisy 100.
