A MAJOR drug bust across Port Stephens earlier today has resulted in the arrest of four people including a 50-year-old grandfather and his 49-year-old wife.
Port detectives set up Operation Seamist more than three months ago to investigate the ongoing supply of amphetamines with raids at houses in Nelson Bay, Shoal, Bay and Salamander Bay allegedly turning out three kilograms of dried marijuana with an estimated street value of $30,000 and roughly $19,000 in cash.
A Shoal Bay man, 53, and a Salamander Bay man, 68, were also arrested just before 8am this morning.Port Stephens commander superintendent Charles Haggett said police believed the drugs were being purchased from Sydney and then sold in the Nelson Bay area.
