Proposal via advert in TV guide

28 Apr, 2010 11:02 AM
ANYONE reading the Examiner's TV Guide last week may have come across an unusual notice.

There buried between advertisements for home extensions and the weekly rainfall report lay a proposal from one romantic to another.

It read "I love you Ann, will you marry me?"

Strangely enough it was not the first proposal in print from Jeff Boswell to Ann Marsden following a bit of a bungle on April Fool's Day.

"I put a public notice in before which asked her to marry me but I didn't realise it would be printed on April Fool's Day," he said.

"She was excited but didn't quite believe it so I had to come back again and make amends."

All ended well however, with Ms Marsden accepting the proposal.

"We've both been married before but through circumstances Ann had never been proposed to," Mr Boswell said. "So I wanted to make it special."

The couple are wasting no time in tying the knot with nuptials planned for July with a honeymoon to follow in Thailand.

sitting in front of TV with their trusty TV Guides by their side... Lovely story... but I'm a bit worried that the TV Guide is such a prominent part of their relationship at this point. Of course, this opens up wedding anniversary wishes to be posted throughout the paper in years to come... Trades & Services next year?! I just hope she's ready for it to appear in the funerals section...
