28 Apr, 2010 11:07 AM
A PROGRAM which aims to help promote better parenting is being offered on the Tomaree Peninsula.

The Positive Parenting Program or Triple P, as it is widely known both nationally and internationally, will be held at Nelson Bay Baptist Church from May 6.

The eight-week course is tailored for parents of children aged between three and eight years and combines group work and home study to focus on making simple changes that go a long way to making life for both parent and child a lot easier.

Amy Forward is running the course and said her previous career as as welfare worker had highlighted the need for information on parenting children at a young age.

Mrs Forward said previous courses she'd been involved with in Sydney and on the Tomaree Peninsula had positive results.

"We've had excellent results so far.
