RAYMOND Terrace Athletics Club will this weekend continue its tenure as the region's track and field strong hold.
It has qualified 11 athletes for the Little Athletics NSW State Track and Field Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, starting tomorrow.
From the 21 athletes that attended the regional championships in Tamworth last month, the club took home six gold, eight silver and three bronze medals.
Attending this weekends action from the Raymond Terrace club in the under 9s will be Dakota Gordon (high jump) and Belle Leonard (hurdles) and in the under 10s will be Tristan Brooker (shot put) and Laura Beaumont (high jump).
Breaanna Franks (triple jump, hurdles and 100m), Maddison Ingram (long jump, 200m, 100m) and Katie Smee (200m, 100m) will compete in the under 12s.
In the under 15s Tiarne Condron (discus), Taylor Ingram (discus) will compete against the State's best, as will the club's star triple jumper Brandon Donkin.
Medowie Little Athletics Club also snagged its fair share of podium spots at the regional championships, qualifying five members for the State meet.
Cooper Jenkins (100m, 200m) will contest the under 9s, Matthew Williams (800m, 1500m) made it in the under 11s while Jack Jones (discus) and Carl Williams (800m, 1500m, 3000m) will represent their club in the under 13s.
