Macquarie Scorpions too srong for Northern Blues

11 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
THE Northern Blues found Macquarie Scorpions too strong going down 30-16 last weekend.

The visitors were always too strong and took a 18-4 lead into half time with Cameron Scully scoring the only first half try for Blues.

Without a number of experienced players the team lacked the ability to go forward. Second half tries to Nathan Dover and Dane Queenan and two sideline conversions made up the Blues' 16 points.

Rhys Cutbush took the players' player award and Cameron Scully was the coach's pick.

The Presidents cup team won 17-16 on the bell with a field goal to Matt Dews.

Try scorers were Lewis Casey and Blaine O'Flarety. Blues play Kurri this weekend with the first game to kick off at 11.30am.
