Nippers score 30 medals

THE Fingal Beach Surf Life Saving Club has scored a swag of medals at the Hunter Branch Championships held at Catherine Hill Bay last Saturday.

The club sent a team of 50 junior life savers to the competition and came away with 30 medals including seven golds.

Director of surf sports Mark Watson was ecstatic with the performance.

"Fingal junior life savers performed exceptionaly well and we as a club are proud to call them ours," he said.

"The club is really primed to compete successfully at the upcoming NSW State Titles at Kingscliffe beach in March."

Tyler Harrison was one of the days stand out performers, winning gold in the under 10s beach flags competition.

Watson praised the performance saying that "Tyler has worked hard at club level on her skills and it has now paid big dividends for her".

"With NSW State Titles in two weeks Tyler looks the goods to bring home a medal."

The state championships will be held in March at Kingscliffe.
