Simone Lewis building body of work

12 May, 2010 11:38 AM
FROM relative obscurity to natural bodybuilding pin-up girl, the last 12 months has been a journey of transformation for Bobs Farm sports model Simone Lewis.

Sports modelling is a category of natural bodybuilding that rewards natural structure, symmetry and physique.

Lewis, 22, began her second competitive sports modelling season on May 1 with a 90-second routine in front of judges at the Dubbo International INBA Physique Championships, finishing third.

On a strict diet of green vegetables, tuna and egg whites, Lewis strips six kilograms to reach a competition weight of 48kg.

And with the INBA Sydney Natural Physique Titles this weekend and two Australian Natural Body Building events to follow, she will not relax her diet or training regiment until June.

"It was really difficult the first time," she said.

"But this time around I think I knew what to expect."

"It's a really low carb, high protein diet...it's fine as long as you keep your calories up.

"It is tough but as soon as you reach competition day, you say 'yes it was all worth it'."
