BAY United Soccer club took on Cardiff City in three grades at Tomaree Oval on Saturday.
These games made up for those washed out earlier in the season.
Third grade opened the days proceedings with a very one sided match with Cardiff City finding the back of the net on 11 occasions.
Nelson Bay did not score during the entire game and received a footballing lesson from the visitors going down 11-0.
The day improved with the reserve grade team running out winners 5 - 3 in a well contested game.
Blake Woods bagged a hat trick with assists from Mick Clay and Michael Hyde.
First grade was unlucky to go down 2-1 to Cardiff City.
Bay's only goal was scored by Kev Roberts returning from suspension. Coach Ken Catford said there will need to be a huge improvement in all three grades if the club intends to be competitive going into the last rounds with finals fast approaching.
