THE NSW Hornets Touch Association will hold their annual Regional Junior Touch Football Tournament at the Tomaree Sports Complex this weekend.

The Hornets, a regional touch representative asssciation, holds the competition annually and for the past decade Tomaree has hosted the event.

94 teams are expected to compete, with ages ranging from 10's through to 18's.

Both male and female teams participate in a round robin competition with players aiming to be selected for the Hornets regional representative team to play the State Championship in Wollongong.

One of the event organisers, Anne Tolhust, said that teams from all over regional NSW compete in the event.

"They come from all over the Hunter and Western NSW," she said.

"We go south to the Central Coast, north to Foster, with teams from Taree competing on invitation."

Nelson Bay is the sole Port Stephens side, with teams from Wallsend and Newcastle also competing.
