ON THE field they stand on opposite sides of the judicial line, but Port touch referee John Frost and player Jodi Frizzel have the same dream - to represent their country at a world cup.
Frizzel will make her representative debut for the Australian over-30s team at a trans-Tasman series in Townsville on the June long weekend.
Adding to the pressure of stepping onto the international stage, the Nelson Bay flyer will be under the gaze of national selectors, keen to finalise a squad of eligible players ahead of the world cup in Edinburgh, Scotland, next June.
"We have to beat New Zealand first that's for sure," she said.
Similarly, Frost will be one of 15 referees from across the country heading to Townsville with a chance to secure a judicator's spot at the world cup.
"I'll definitely go if they choose me, this is the last one for me I think," the 55-year-old said.
With almost daily runs in the One Mile Beach sand dunes, the Nelson Bay Touch Association referee is certainly training like a world cup contender.
