HER 2011 achievements span a national title as well as multiple state crowns, and for this, Natasha Van Eldik has been named Australia's female bowler of the year.
The former junior Australian bowler of the year took her resume to new heights last Saturday when the announcement came during her tilt for an Australian Open title in Melbourne.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games representative said the honour was 'definitely up there' among her list of medal winning performances.
"It's a hard one to explain," the 21-year-old said.
"It is a very good feeling, but at the moment I'm still taking everyday as it comes."
The Raymond Terrace bowler has also been selected as a skipper in the NSW team to play the Australian six a side championship.
At the time of publication, Van Eldik was still alive in the triples competition at the Australian Open competition after being knocked out of the singles over the weekend.
Van Eldik capped off a stellar year in 2011 winning the national champion of champions gold medal in the women's pairs, and also clinching a gold for NSW at the Australian Sides Championships.
Her priority for this year is to gain selection again to play for the national squad in Adelaide.
"I'm working hard to try and get selected for Nationals in Adelaide at the end of the year," she said.
