THE best Premier League bowls season by the Raymond Terrace Jets has ended in disappointment.
The Jets semi final campaign ended where it started on Saturday, when they took on the Cabramatta Bull Ants in front of a home crowd at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club.
Around 500 spectators packed the makeshift grandstands at the club to watch the Jets concede defeat in two of their three rinks and a final scoreline of 70-52.
The Premier League, run by the Royal NSW Bowls Association, is widely regarded as the highest-standard inter-club bowls competition in the world.
But Jets representative and the club's bowls coordinator Clay Parker said the pressure of the moment was no excuse for his men.
"There was a load of experience in that side, there is not one player that hasn't won at the top level."
Parker was optimistic about the Jets progression to the semi final stage in 2009 and said they would now regroup for next season.
