Raymond Terrace up despite three down

30 Sep, 2009 12:14 PM
DESPITE losing three marquee players for the weekend's Premier League action the Raymond Terrace Bowling club had a victorious time.

The Terrace were without Shane Golbits who was ill and Jason Pietraszek and Terry Antrum who both had to represent their own clubs at the District Championships.

But Scott Kohler, Michael Harvey and Jason Stokes stepped up to the challenge.

In the first game for the weekend, on Saturday, the Terrace came up against Birrong and won three games to four.

On the second day the Terrace came up against Premier League favourites Taren Point but despite being underdogs came out victorious. Assistant Bowls Manager Lennon Scott said it was a testament to the club.

"The fact that this result can be achieved without three of our marquee players is a credit to the side that took the field and the quality of players we have at Raymond Terrace," Scott said.

In the next round of action Raymond Terrace hope to be back to full strength.
