NATASHA Van Eldik starred in a silver medal performance at an eight nations test in Delhi this month, edging her even closer to Commonwealth Games selection.
The Raymond Terrace Bowling Club representative skippered Lynsey Armitage in Australia's womens pairs team at the event earlier this month.
The pair dropped two of their eight qualifying games against South Africa and Scotland before exacting revenge on the Scots in the semi final and setting up a gold medal play off with the Africans.
Despite training in Cairns on greens similar to that of the Delhi surface, South Africa were still too good, taking out a thriller 8-6, 7-6.
The tournament was touted as one of two critical pre-Games selection hit-outs, with the other being the Trans Tasman test series in Bundaberg next month, where Van Eldik will again partner Armitage in the pairs.
The Australian bowls team for the Commonwealth Games will be announced in June or July.
