AUSTRALIA'S entire women's Commonwealth Games team will be among the action when Soldiers Point Bowling Club hosts the NSW versus Queensland three-Test series next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Outgoing president of Soldiers Point Women's Bowling Club Julie Lister said she was thrilled to get the call from NSW Woman's Bowls Association president Jewel Buchanan, inviting the club to host the event.
"She came up here for the 50th anniversary of the club and said she loved everything about it," Lister said.
"When she called I was so pleased...these [players] are the real cream of the crop."
Raymond Terrace 19 year old and Games team member Natasha Van Eldik was chosen in the NSW team alongside clubmate Noreen Sneddon, while Sarah Vesenjak, also a Terrace representative, will play in the under 25s super six series at the event.
Other Delhi-bound players chosen for NSW are Kelsey Cottrell, Julie Keegan, Sharyn Renshaw and Claire Duke, while Lynsey Armitage will line up for Queensland.
The tournament will second as a high quality send-off for Lister who ends her three-year tenure as president of the women's club at Soldiers Point the following day.
"Because this is such a high standard, we really want to get the word out to as many people in this region as possible.
"I have spoken to people coming from the Central Coast, Sydney and Forster."
The first test will get underway from 9am on Tuesday.
