A BRAWL which spilled over the sideline was a pointer to the bruising Northern Blues-Cessnock rugby league clash on Saturday.
The fighting erupted late in the second half when Blues teenage winger Heydon Dover was punched while on the ground.
As a result the Newcastle Rugby League (NRL) is to investigate the incident.
"The committee will view DVDs and issue breach notices to players who have broken the code of conduct if that is necessary," NRL CEO Steve Fleming said.
Blues secretary Geoff Bulmer said while disappointed with the fighting, officials dealt with the situation.
He said both clubs declined to cite any players.
The score in case you were wondering saw the Bay go down 28-4.
