 Juniors a priority for Sharks

Juniors a priority for Sharks

15 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
THE priority for the Port's latest rugby league franchise is to invest in the development and future of its junior players, according to newly appointed junior Sharks coach Rick Astorini.

With the club's first junior coaching session slated for January 31, it is all systems go between the committee and coaching staff to form a workable roster that will benefit all regions north of the Stockton bridge.

Emphasising the need to increase the interest of rugby league among young people is one of the Sharks key commitments and something the club will be built on achieving.

One key message Mr Astorini wanted to stress was that no one area would be advantaged over the other.

"We are here to help the community," he said.

Sharks' vice president Craig Higgins stressed the breakthrough opportunities the club's junior and senior sides can deliver.

The club is now calling for coaches willing to apply for positions within the juniors. Contact Rick Astorini on 0418 631 401 or email rick.astorini@gmail.com.
