Complete with bucking bulls and horses, barrel races and bareback riders the event will take place on Saturday, September 7 at the club.
The rodeo is held in the memory of the late Reg Lindsay, a pioneer of Australian country music, and is organised by his wife Ros Lindsay.
Normally held annually in Cessnock, Mrs Lindsay said she made the decision to move the rodeo to Tomago in a bid to be centrally located.
"We always stop in at Tomago Bowling Club and have lunch on the way back from the airport," she said
"We were looking out the back and I thought 'we could have a rodeo here'."
She said Tomago was close to the airport and also closer to Newcastle than Cessnock but was still within travelling distance to the rodeo's previous location.
Mrs Lindsay encouraged all in the area to take part and said it would be a great family event.
Bulls from previous years, including one with a six foot horn span named 'Hairy Scary' are expected to take part and the event will draw riders from across Australia.
Tickets cost $20 for adults, $10 for seniors and $10 for children 14 years and under.
