Peter Cairnes is now president of the club, Lyn Humphries vice president, Barry Young second vice president, Ann Scully secretary and Kay Morrow treasurer.
Having reached its cap of 119 members, the club has attracted a lot of interest since its inception in May last year. The success of the club has also been tinged with sadness with the loss of its president Rex Sargeant last year who died after a short battle with cancer. It was a poignant moment at the club's AGM when Mr Sargeant's widow Merle Sargeant placed the medal acknowledging his position as president around Peter Cairne's neck after his role was announced.
Mr Cairnes said while some might think of probus as a men's and women's club, he believed it was a "couple's and single's club".
His aim for the year was to ensure those who had lost their partners felt comfortable to make new friends within the club.
