THE North Arm Cove waterfront will receive much needed upgrades thanks to $31,000 in state government funding from the 2013-14 Better Boating Program.

The money, given to the North Arm Cove Residents Association (NACRA), will cover two new launching pads for dinghies, small boats and kayaks on the waterfront.
NACRA president Stephanie Hunter said the new launching pads would make a huge difference as there had never been any in the area before.
"It was really rough and dangerous to get things down into the water before. This will formalise the area and give people better access," she said.
Mrs Hunter said the new infrastructure would be installed by September.
NACRA has been working on beautifying the waterfront and is in the process of landscaping and installing picnic tables and dinghy racks using Community Building Partnership funding.
Port Stephens MP Craig Baumann said the recent round of funding was a real boost for North Arm Cove.
"The Better Boating Program is about funding local projects that make a big difference in improving boating facilities for communities across NSW," he said.
"It aims to make recreational boating facilities safer, more accessible and able to cater for increased demand."
He congratulated the hard working members of NACRA for their continued delivery for the community.
