Paintings by artist friends Margaret Watson, Robyn Killen, Barbara Winters and Robyn Bailey will be available for viewing until Friday, February 28.
All paintings featured in the exhibition, called The Mix, vary in size, subject matter and artistic medium.
"All works are in the contemporary style, with a variety of subject matter," Ms Killen said. "Hence the title: The Mix."
This is not the first time the women have exhibited together, having hung their creations previously in New Lambton's Studio 48 art gallery.
All four artists, members of and regular exhibitors at the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre, are distinguished in their own right.
Ms Bailey has been a committee member of the Muswellbrook Regional Art Gallery, is a member of the Newcastle Art Society and a founding member of the Peninsula Painters.
Ms Watson, a full-time artist, has won a swag of awards and accolades for her works, including a highly commended in the Society of Artists Art Prize.
Her dedication in pursuing art led to Ms Killen being awarded a commendation for a watercolour painting she submitted to the Newcastle Mattara Art Prize in 2012.
Ms Winters, who throughout her life has completed many art courses despite many setbacks to her education, regularly exhibits at Studio 48.
The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens is open seven days a week, between 9am and 4pm.
