Every time residents buy an item with the IGA logo, a percentage of the cost goes back into the community.
Each year the money is divided between community groups and organisations in need of a funding boost.
"This year we wanted to give back to organisations that supported the children in the community," Karuah IGA's store manager Anita Pinkerton said.
The $850 they raised was shared between Karuah Public School, Karuah Tennis Club and Toogee Taekwondo.
The taekwondo club is planning to buy new equipment with the donation while the school will use the money for literacy resources.
"We will be helping our new year 2/3 class establish their new classroom," Karuah Public School's principal Julie Hubbard said.
"We will be using it to buy a computer program and new books," she said. "It will make a very big difference."
Each of the organisations accepted their cheque from IGA last week.
