Twice a year the Rotary Club hosts a book sale using old library stock and donated books with all money made put straight back into the community.
A record $10,200 was raised during the two-day event in January with $1000 going straight towards the library.
Tea Gardens Library officer Carol Johnson said the money would be used to immediately replace the library's failing air conditioner unit and for general maintenance.
In past years the donation has been used to replenish library stocks.
The relationship between Tea Gardens Library and the Rotary Club began five years ago when the library service approached the club about helping to recycle old stock.
"We complement each other really well," Tea Gardens Library officer Carol Johnson said.
Rotarian Ray Harrison said plenty of people commented that this year's book sale was a "great drawcard" for the area.
Rotary now needs book donations for its Easter sale. Drop books off at Pelican Pest Control or Ella's Boutique, both in Myall Street, Tea Gardens.
