At the event, which took place last Sunday, up to 600 people descended on the small town and at least $3000 was raised for the community.
Vice-president of the Nerong Progress Association Elaine Hall said the community was still on a high after the weekend.
"It was fantastic, we were most impressed," she said.
"Nerong was definitely put on the map."
The Nerong Progress Association will now be in discussions with the Great Lakes Council about how to use the money.
The association is seeking approval to upgrade the wood-fired barbecue in the park to an electric one and build some new seating.
In another win for the community the Maitland Rotary Club has donated a shade sail for the children's play area in the park.
Nerong Progress Association will meet Saturday, March 15, at the hall from 3pm.
