IT WAS a scene straight from the early 1900s - Gregory Lee behind the wheel of his 1913 Rover wearing a three-piece suit and bowler hat, his partner by his side elegantly dressed in clothes of the era.

The couple and their historic car attracted plenty of attention at the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motorfest held at Myall Park earlier this month.
It was the first time Mr Lee had shown the vehicle. He won the Best Car Pre-1940 trophy.
"I was excited for the vehicle, I have been working very hard on it," he said.
There are only 12 cars of the same style known in Australia and the Rover was one of about 30 pre-1940 vehicles on display at the show.
Mr Lee, who has only had the car for about a year, said it was found in a woolshed in Tasmania in the 1950s.
He came across the car online when he was looking for a vintage vehicle.
"I was trying to find a car that was 100 per cent original and this car popped up," he said.
Everything on the car is original except the wooden spokes on the rims.
Mr Lee lives in Taree and is part of the Taree Historic Motor Club. He brought the car to Hawks Nest on a trailer but on the way home drove it from Nabiac to Taree.
"People were hanging out their windows with their cameras," he said.
The next big event for the Rover will be a show in Newcastle for cars more than a century old.
