A sound display from a strong forward laid the ground work. John Shultz starred with strong ball running off his halves.
Kirran Shearer was non-stop up the middle, supported by Luke Gilbert and Brooke Roach.
Halves Luke Handsaker and Jeff Wortley directed the team, with Aaron Waters in support. David Edmonds was elusive out of dummy half.
The Hawks will travel to Mallabula next Saturday to play in round one of this year's competition.
The game will kick off at 4pm.
The Myall River 16s played a second trial game at Raymond Terrace on Saturday.
In stifling conditions they were beaten by East Maitland by 20 points to 4.
Best for Myall River was Riley Price, who never shirked at the hard work. Tarryn Roach defended with venom, with Jordan Gregory taking on a leadership role in attack. Captain Ben Johnston led his side up front.
The 16s will play their first competition game on Saturday, April 5.
The Myall River Juniors will kick off at Myall Park this Saturday with three mini-mod league games.
The 6-years and under will kick off at 9am, followed by the 9s at 9.30am and the 10s at 10am.
