More than 110 people of all ages turned out in their finest attire to what president Lorna Russom described as an "all out" event, and purchased everything from necklaces to rings and bracelets in support of the charity, raising a total of $2356.
"We've probably done four times as well [as the annual big cuppa]," second vice-president of the Lioness Club Vivienne Boyd said.
She said the money from tickets, raffle entries, cash donations and a 5 per cent donation from jewellery sales made up the final figure.
The success of the cocktail and jewellery night could see the Lioness Club throw a second such event, Mrs Boyd said.
Tea Gardens Hotel hosted the event, and Mrs Boyd said businesses in the area had been generous in their donations.
