The new store on Ferodale Road is a whopping 3747 square metres and includes a bakery, pizza bar, meat and fresh produce sections, general groceries as well as a BWS liquor store.
Construction started on Medowie's second supermarket last year after beleaguered plans saw a two-year delay from approval to construction.
Store manager Leisa Tynan was excited to finally be opening the doors, with her team of 90 employees working through the week to get the store ready.
"We are proud that the opening of the new Woolworths sees us welcoming so many new people to the company from the Medowie area," she said.
A ceremony will mark the opening of the store today and during the weekend there will be further festivities with face-painting, a balloon artist and a petting zoo from Oakvale Farm and Fauna World.
The store will be open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 8pm on Sunday.
