After a hiatus in 2013, this year’s festival, on November 1 and 2, will be the biggest in its four-year history.
“What started out as a hot rod and car show has grown bigger and better each year,” Bulahdelah Chamber of Commerce and Tourism publicity officer Dave Saul said.
“This year it’s going to have a bit of everything.”
The Chamber of Commerce and Tourism hopes it will draw up to 20,000 people, injecting $2million to $3million into the Bulahdelah township, which has felt the squeeze since the bypass became operational.
“The whole thing about this festival is promoting Bulahdelah,” Mr Saul said.
The Bulahdelah Rock, Rattle ’n’ Roll Festival is themed from the ’50s to the ’80s. It is loosely based on the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival.
A big weekend is planned with up to 400 cars from across Australia expected to rev into Stroud Street at lunchtime on Saturday and stay for the show ’n’ shine on Sunday.
The main street will have markets, live music and stores.
Pub rock band The Radiators will play at the Plough Inn Hotel on Saturday night.
Businesses are urged to get involved or provide sponsorship.
