The council will host a community event to launch NAIDOC Week on July 7 at 11am.
Each year, the week adopts a different theme. This year’s theme is Serving Country: Centenary and Beyond, and aims to honour all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who have fought in defence of the country.
Celebrations will start with a flag-raising ceremony and a morning tea hosted by the mayor.
Everyone is invited to attend.
