The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens is holding Port Stephens Council's next sustainable living workshop on August 2.
Called Make Your Garden More Sustainable, the workshop runs from 9.30am until midday.
It will cover what volunteers at the botanic gardens do to make the site sustainable and how to copy these strategies in a home garden.
Participants will go for a guided walk, learn about native plants suitable for local gardens, get an insight into propagation and even taste some delicious Australian food straight from the garden patch.
To book a place in the sustainable gardening workshop phone 4980 0251 or email melinda.anderson@portstephens.nsw.gov.au
Hunter Region Botanic Gardens is located on the Pacific Highway at Heatherbrae.
