More hands are needed to help the group plant 116 trees in the Yawl Helm Retention Basin as part of Planet Ark's National Tree Day.
"We're inviting all residents to get outside and connect with nature, do something good for the environment and help our local community," the group's Shirley Harvey said.
"This time we are adding more trees and ground covers to extend our very successful planting in the Yawl Helm Retention Basin. There will be trees to provide koala food as well."
The Corlette group's event will be part of a National Tree Day milestone being observed this year.
The 20-millionth seedling will be planted this year after Planet Ark initiated National Tree Day in 1996.
All 116 seedlings to be planted in the basin on Sunday were sourced from the Ngioka Horticulture Therapy Centre in Nelson Bay.
Residents interested in helping are asked to meet at the bubbler in Yawl Close on Sunday from 10.30am.
Planting the trees is not expected to take more than two hours.
All are welcome.
