President Jen Rossi said the musical theatre company had been successful in the approval and purchase of the rights to perform the Australian-written musical Breast Wishes.
"To our knowledge we are the first amateur company in the whole Hunter area to perform the show as we have been waiting a number of years for it to finish the professional tours," Rossi said.
"It is about breast cancer and will coincide with breast cancer fund-raising."
Breast Wishes follows the journey of a family and the events that have shaped their breasts.
Lyn is a warm, open, earth mother with voluptuous breasts and is married to breast-loving everyman David.
Her sister Carol, who will be played by the musical company's Kellie Mycock, is flat chested and highly strung in the midst of a mid-life crisis.
Their cousin Sal is young, sexy and self absorbed while mother Helen has embraced all things new age.
Irene, the quintessential bra fitter, is the wise overseer.
The concept of the musical came from producer Anne Looby's personal experiences with breast cancer.
Looby's sister Amanda was diagnosed in 2005.
While the subject matter of the musical may pull the heart strings of Port residents, Rossi said it would be well worth heading along, with fun games and competitions, including best decorated bra, being held on the night.
The Tomaree Musical Theatre Company will perform Breast Wishes in October, on a date to be later announced, at Nelson Bay Bowling Club.
The company is searching for cast members.
Musical and dance background is preferred but not necessary.
