On September 10, Stroud residents will need to retune their digital televisions, set-top box or digital recorder to find the channels that have moved to different frequencies.
It will come two months after Port Stephens residents and those in Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest and Pindimar retuned their digital televisions on July15.
The reason for this, Paterson MP Bob Baldwin said, was that Stroud used a different reception tower.
“On July 15, people who used the Gan Gan and Anna Bay TV towers for digital TV reception had to retune,” Mr Baldwin said.
“Stroud residents won’t change over until September 10 as they use the Sugarloaf tower.”
Mr Baldwin said more than 400 television transmitters across Australia required retuning, which involved sending people to the towers to upgrade the equipment.
“[It is] a complex and time consuming process,” Mr Baldwin said.
“This is why some people within the same town or city will have different retune dates.”
Mr Baldwin said the retune would not fix previously experienced reception issues.
A video and guide to retuning is available on digitalready.gov.au/retune.
