The Raymond Terrace Aquatic Club will hold its annual trophy day on Sunday, August 10.
All are invited to head along to Riverside Park, along Hunter Street, from 9am to watch the action unfold.
The club's vice-commodore, Greg Lewis, said there would be plenty to see and hear during the annual trophy day, with up to 12 boats racing in the junior and senior divisions.
"Some boats are a little noisy as they use a V8 engine," Lewis said.
"They'll probably do up to 115 kilometres an hour.
"That's quick on land; it's much quicker in the water."
Lewis said the aquatic club was expecting the Australian five-litre champion, Greg Hodges, from Taree, to make the trip down for the day.
He said racers from Sydney would also be attending.
Formula futures racing, for juniors aged eight to 16, will start at 9.30am.
The seniors will race from 11.30am.
Racers will complete three laps of a 600-metre course in front of Riverside Park.
Winners will be based on a point score system, competing for the much sought-after club trophy.
There is no entry fee to watch the race action on August 10.
Drinks and snacks will be sold by the club on the day.
