Port Stephens Council has called on Tilligerry Habitat, Land for Wildlife and Hunter Local Land Services for the next workshop.
It will focus on every resident's ability to encourage wildlife and biodiversity, whether living on a property or those with an urban backyard.
The workshop runs from 10am to 12.30pm at the Tilligerry Habitat on August 30 and John Asquith, from the Community Environment Network, will be conducting one of the talks.
"Land for Wildlife is a voluntary club of landholders who manage their land to support wildlife," he said.
"We have 1200 properties which participate in the program in NSW. Habitat for Wildlife is for those who live in an urban environment.
"It is about having native plants in your garden and whatever food and habitat you can manage to encourage local wildlife. It is an Australia-wide program with 14000 members."
Mr Asquith said small changes to a garden such as planting shrubs and native flowers would see animals, especially birds, come back to any urban area.
Land for Wildlife and Habitat for Wildlife are voluntary registration schemes. To attend the workshop phone 4980 0251 or email melinda.anderson@portstephens.nsw.gov.au.
