Daffodils and merchandise are currently available in most supermarkets, but on Friday, August 22, volunteer-run stalls will be set up across the Port with goods available to purchase.
From the traditional yellow daffodil pin to teddy bears and soft-toy footballs, all money spent on buying merchandise goes back to the Cancer Council, said Daffodil Day co-ordinator for Port Stephens, Ron Parkes.
"Everyone knows someone who has had cancer, everyone has been affected by it somehow," Mr Parkes said.
"All the money you spend on buying daffodils, teddy bears, pens, badges and bands goes back into the Cancer Council."
Mr Parkes has co-ordinated Daffodil Day in Port Stephens for 11 years.
He said each year something new was added to the merchandise range, which had something for everyone.
Each year about $6000 was raised from the stalls set up on Daffodil Day in Port Stephens, Mr Parkes said.
Residents will be able to find a stall at Salamander Bay Shopping Centre, outside the Nelson Bay and Anna Bay newsagencies, Bunnings Taylors Beach and the shops along Soldiers Point Road at Salamander Way.
Just look out for a yellow T-shirt, Mr Parkes said.
