Unlike the usual mapping technique which sees the Google car drive around with a camera on the roof to photograph for Street View, this time the images were taken on foot.
National Parks and Wildlife (NPWS) staff had a special backpack equipped with the Street View camera system strapped on before completing a walk around the national park.
The camera captured a 360-degree image of the landscapes as they walked through the park.
"The walk up the 161-metre Tomaree Head rewards visitors with breathtaking views of the Port Stephens coastline, and is truly one of the must-do experiences when visiting Nelson Bay," NPWS Hunter Coast area manager Andrew Bond said.
"We are delighted to present Tomaree National Park through the use of this state of the art technology, and share its beautiful landscapes with more people than ever."
Tomaree National Park is one of 16 state parks being mapped thanks to a partnership between Google and the NSW government.
The Google team were out at Nelson Bay on Friday and Saturday.
