A NEW committee will steer the Port Stephens Sailing and Aquatic Club into its new season and hope to build on the great results sailors delivered during the past year.

At the recent annual general meeting, Dennis Hume was elected as president and secretary of the Soldiers Point-based club.
Greg Busch was voted in as vice president and Jen Busch treasurer.
The club's 2014-2015 season will start with an open event from 10am on Sunday, September 7.
"Visitors are welcome to join us for the season opener," club member Ian Iredale said.
"The day begins with social sailing for both adults and kids.
"Rescue [and] instruction boats will be on the water to supervise and assist those in need.
"We can help you rig your own boat or you can pre book one of our hire fleet."
Racing will start at 1pm with boats washed and packed away about 3pm.
The club had a "very successful" 2013-2014 season in the O'pen Bic class.
Sophie Cottam, 16, finished first in the under-16 state championships and eighth at the nationals.
Korben Donaldson, 13, came fourth in the under-16 age group at state championships and 13th at the nationals.
Marcus Busch, 12, in the under-13 age group, came fourth at state and national championships and second in the New Zealand championship.
Sailing is held each Sunday from the start of September to the end of April. Learn to sail classes are run during the September and Christmas school holidays for both children and adults.
