Jenifer and mother-in-law Hazel will exhibit and sell their Black Possum Fabrics products at the show, which will be held at Newcastle Entertainment Centre between September 11 and 14.
Black Possum Fabrics, found in Tea Gardens, has been run by Jenifer and Hazel for more than 30 years.
What started out as a video store became a fabric shop when the women, bored with the slow goings of the movie rental business, began taking their sewing with them.
‘‘We just evolved from there,’’ Jenifer said.
Their passion, energy and love for colour has helped drive the store into the popular and buzzing outlet that it is today.
The Gimberts hand-pick their fabrics from various suppliers, stock fabrics, have a range of patterns and quilting materials.
Not only do they exhibit at the Newcastle show, they also travel as far as Melbourne and Yass.
The Stitches and Craft Show will feature more than 50 exhibitors and will include hands-on workshops, fashion parades, textile exhibitions, the latest products, do-it-yourself ideas and more.
Special events are lined up for the three days including live demonstrations by Western Sydney Woodturners.
